- The Watauga Democrat has a brief story on Watauga High's Cross Country team (Thanks, NCPrepTrack). They're working pretty hard this week, it's true, although a lot of them have been working hard all summer.
- NCPrepTrack notes that the 4A State Championships (November 3) will be at 10:30 and 11:30am this year. 94 days to go!
- Watauga had 82 athletes run in last year's Clash of the Classes, 33 girls and 49 boys. It's a 2 mile run, instead of 3.1 mile (5K) standard. The times ranged from 10:11 to 22:54.
- How does it affect Watauga fall sports, if school does not start until late August, as is now required by NC law? Lots of NC schools start in late August now, but practices start at the same time for everyone. So probably not much. Maybe it will be a little harder to get everyone to practice.
