This meet in Salem, VA was the first "big-time" invitational of the season. Overall times for many may have been a bit slower than last year likely due to very warm temperatures at race starts. The varsity girls squad improved on last years finish and delivered a team 17th place (out of 27 teams) with Emma B. as the first Watauga runner across the line followed by Rebecca, Anna, Emma T., and Finley scoring for the Pioneers. The boys squad moved up two places to finish 5th (out of 33 teams) this year and were led by Josh, followed immediately by Price and River, Avery (who had the 2nd fastest freshman runner finish on the day), and Elias scoring.
